LandWatch Announces Organizational Changes
Amy L. White named Executive Director

SALINAS, CA, December 2, 2009 -- LandWatch Monterey County announced today that the Board of Directors has appointed Amy L. White to serve as the new Executive Director.

Michael DeLapa, founding LandWatch Board Member said, “LandWatch is extremely fortunate to have Amy as our new executive director. She brings a wealth of experience, contacts, new ideas, and enthusiasm to the position. On behalf of the LandWatch Board of Directors, I congratulate her and am confident she will help guide Monterey County and its cities to more economically and environmentally sustainable patterns of development.”

Ms. White served as LandWatch’s Interim Executive Director prior to her appointment and has worked for LandWatch since 2008. She is finalizing her Masters Degree in Public Policy at the Panetta Institute of California State University Monterey Bay and holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado. Amy is a proud Paul Harris Fellow of the Salinas Alisal Rotary Club, a member of the League of Women Voters of the Monterey Peninsula, and a Steering Committee Member for the Monterey Museum of Art’s Contemporary Group.

“I am very proud of my work with LandWatch. It is a powerful force for good land use in Monterey County and has been since its inception in 1997. I look forward to leading the organization as we continue our critical work in Monterey County,” said White.
