The
following Land Use Report is presented by Gary Patton, Executive
Director of LandWatch Monterey County. The opinions expressed by
Mr. Patton are not necessarily those of KUSP Radio, nor of any of
our sponsors.
Starting
Monday, August 5th, this Land Use Report will be heard on KUSP Radio
each weekday morning at 6:49 a.m. A couple of changes are being
made. Instead of airing at 7:49, the Land Use Report will go on
the air an hour earlier. Is earlier better? We hope so! Early involvement
is always better where land use issues are concerned!
The
Land Use Report will also become a daily event, each weekday. Up
until now, the Land Use Report has been featured only on Mondays
and Fridays. Because its now going to be on the air each weekday,
it should be possible to give you better coverage of important land
use related news. Thats going to be the goal, for those of
you who are up, and awake, and tuned in to KUSP, at 6:49 each weekday
morning.
Land
use policy is important. How we use the land has a fundamental impact
on our economy, on social equity, and on the health of the environment.
There is a lot going on, from Santa Cruz County to San Luis Obispo.
So, dont drop out. Tune in! And find out how you can get involved.
You
can get transcripts of the KUSP Land Use Report on the KUSP website.
Thats www.kusp.org. Just
go to the link at the bottom of that main page. And send me your
comments and suggestions. You can do that on the website, too.For
KUSP, this is Gary Patton.
