Marks Ranch Issues & Actions

As the Marks Ranch goes, so goes the County. The Marks Ranch is a 797-acre local treasure, located just south of Highway 68 between Toro Park and the 1,031-home Las Palmas Ranch. Donated to St. John's College for educational purposes, the property was never intended for residential subdivision, but that could change. The Fletcher Company (developers of the Las Palmas Ranch subdivision on River Road) wants to extend Las Palmas "over the hill" in a massive expansion of suburban development. If the Board of Supervisors modifies the current land use designation to permit a major new subdivision on this incredibly beautiful and sensitive land, a future of further urban sprawl is what County residents can expect.

Help Protect Marks Ranch
We'd appreciate your help in collecting signatures, to let the Board of Supervisors know that the public wants to protect and preserve the Marks Ranch. Look here to download the Marks Ranch Petition

July 23rd Planning Meeting Critical For Marks Ranch
The County planning staff and the Board of Supervisors must hear that residential development on the Marks Ranch is not acceptable. If you want to save the Marks Ranch, plan to attend this upcoming meeting on July 23rd.
